My husband's father was on the USS Anzio and my husband has enjoyed your stories about flying and about your dad. We have a history with flying in these parts as well. There is an international seaplane festival here the weekend after Labor Day every year. It's quite a "gathering" with bush pilots from this area and beyond. The connection is definitely a spiritual one. God's Peace. He had great instincts and skills to conquer tough situations, and through personal experiences and passing on his knowledge and wisdom, his kids are well-equipped to handle challenges. I know very well, since I'm married to one who is very much his father's son.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09468071094931939109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-933884385633374892.post-6989539666744155322009-08-15T01:34:10.218-04:002009-08-15T01:34:10.218-04:00Hi Mike, your story transported me to my own wond...Hi Mike, your story transported me to my own wonderful flying experiences with your dad. Owen added his own layer of adventure to my college days. When Steve and I would visit for the weekend he would often find an excuse to take us flying after church (the stunt plane flight...was the wildest ride I've ever had). Steve and I always said, YES! At the end of each flight, with cool that would make Clint Eastwood look wimpy, Owen would announce, "We cheated death one more time." I was NEVER afraid when your dad was my pilot because I knew he loved me and would fly me safely home. How wonderful to know that God is the pilot of our days. Nothing touches us that has not been filtered through HIS omnipotent and loving hands...there are many things I don't understand and quite frankly...I don't have many answers... just a deep assurance He is at the controls...He will pilot me safely home or perhaps meet me today in the sky! I KNOW I can trust God's heart. Hab 3:17-19 comes to mind.. "...though the fig trees have no blossoms and there are no grapes on the vine.....yet will I rejoice in the Lord. He is my strength! He will make me as surefooted as a deer and bring me safely over the mountain." Thanks for sharing, Mike, With Love, KrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-933884385633374892.post-2283074549804747442009-08-14T19:35:02.574-04:002009-08-14T19:35:02.574-04:00Mike,
